Snatch thief’s escape thwarted by vigilant
youth


PENANG: He promised himself that he
would never just stand by and watch a snatch thief get away after a relative
became a snatch-theft victim. And on
Sunday night, he acted on his new resolve. The youth, in his early 20s, jumped into his car with three
friends and gave chase after they spotted a motorcyclist grabbing a woman's
handbag in Tanjong Tokong.

END OF THE ROAD: Police waiting for a patrol car to
come pick up the snatch thief who was caught by four youths along Kelawei Road
on Sunday.They were just about to get into the car at 11pm after having supper
at a coffeeshop when the incident happened.
A high-speed chase ensued and
the driver caught up with the motorcyclist some 4km away along Kelawei Road.
According to one of his friends, identified only as Mohd Zamani, 23, the
youth managed to knock down the motorcyclist.
“We then handed him over to
the police. My friend really despises snatch
thieves, as one of his relatives was a victim recently,” he
said.
The driver, however, declined to speak to reporters.
A check by
the police showed that the 17-year-old suspect was a school dropout from Alor
Star and the motorcycle he was riding was reported stolen last week in Kulim.

Its good to hear and see that there are still caring malaysians able to go this far just to seek justice. I think that street justice is acceptable as police officers are not everywhere everytime. So we as citizens should always do our part in helping our police to mantain the security of our nation.

If you catch a snatch thief, remember to whack him first before handing over to the police cause once you hand over you got no chance liao. And also make sure you don't kill him, if not you'll be charged too.

Of course prevention is always better. Try not to be a snatch victim yourself. Be more alert of your surroundings.... =) However sometimes prevention is not an option and therefore we must cure it! Here comes street justice!!!

P/S - Heard that in Bali a snatch thief can be beaten to death by vigilantes.
