Benchmark
Benchmark you ask? It is a standard or a requirement set to gauge the perfomance of an entity regardless whether it is a human or not. Well, I am referring to one's performance academically today. My biology lecturer set a date for my class a big quiz, which is today covering the whole of chapter 1 : cell structure. Anyway the lecturer gave us a less than a week "warning" of the upcoming week. However, due to workload from college, I only managed to open my biology textbook yesterday. Revised a little on the way to college yesterday and that was it. I continued my revision at night which apparently turned out to be a bad idea.
The lights were on and the clock points 4.50 AM. Ah, I dozed off while studying! I struggled to fight the drowziness and attempted to continue my revision. To much avail, I was dozing off every few minutes of studying. Anyway, the next thing I knew was that the clock pointed 6.00 AM. Got out of bed and prepared myself for college. Left for college around 6.50 AM and guess what? Traffic was already in a crawl. How early must one leave the house to beat the traffic?

The biology lecturer
Stepped into the college compound at 7.15 AM. Did more last minute revision and soon it was 8.00 AM. It was the make or break moment. Entered class with Ivan and Giju. No one was in sight except Steven's bag. Look's like everyone's a little late. Soon after, everyone entered class and minutes later the lecturer followed. We have twelve people in the biology class and the lecturer only had 10 sets of questions. Eventually, me and Ivan were relocated to "share" question papers with two other girls. One for me, one for Ivan!( Wow, lucky me! ) The lecturer also repositioned everyone to have the table next to them vacant. Then, the quiz began.

Passed up my answer sheets with ten minutes to spare and the lecturer allowed us to have a break. I went out of the class after Steven and Ivan, and looked at Taylor's College. Nothing too fancy about that college. Even though they might have a gigantic structure, they don't have lifts to accomodate their students. Ha ha. The lecturer marked our answer sheets on the spot and the verdict was passed down soon after. Just to let you know, the benchmark set by our lecturer for us is at 60%. Anywhere below that and you will receive your reward. For those who achieve 80% and above, there were also awards. Among the twelve biology students, only one guy got below 60%. However, the lecturer showed mercy which was something out of the odds. What was my marks? I received my paper which says 78%.
