Memory lane
Nah, I'm not emo or depressed. Just had the though of looking back at the digital photographs I've taken over the years. My photography quest started maybe around 4 years back when my dad got a Fuji Finepix A303 from Sabah. It's only a 3 megapixel camera that records movies without sound =.=". The only thing I remember about it when it was bought was that my siblings and I enjoyed to movie function. Heh.
With this A303, many pictures were taken over a long span of time. Compared to the amount I take now, that's considered very little. When I first started taking photos, I knew nothing of it. The only thing I know was to use flash when its dark. LoL. Apart from that, I did not know about camera shake, white balance and the other settings the camera has. By the way, this A303 had no manual mode. I think.

A few years later, my dad got another camera. This time it was the Fuji Finepix E500. It's a 4 megapixel camera with a full manual function. Well, at that time, I was still a novice at using a camera. Didn't really use the manual mode but went trigger happy anyhow. During this time, I was quite interested in taking pictures ( or perhaps I just had nothing better to do ). Well, you can call them pointless and crap pictures. LoL.
I explored the manual mode during a children's camp at Genting. I wasn't the participant but a helper =P. Anyway the other youths that went along taught me something new. Shutter. By controlling the shutter speed I was able to capture images that a human eye won't be able to. Thanks alot =). I also knew about white balance by then! Also, I think Caxton mentioned about ISO to me during a children's choir presentation in church. ( Caxton Chow sudah kembang. Ha ha )

After a few years, my dad's colleagues gave him a new digital camera. A whopping 6 megapixel camera. It was the digital ixus 60. The current one I'm using now. It might be newer, compact and even has nicer feature but it doesn't allow full control over the camera. Sigh. That means, no shutter speed and aperture control. The only settings I can tamper with are the white balance, above 1" shutter and the ISO settings. That's why I still prefer the older E500 sometimes.

Indeed it's built to last
Within 1 year of having this camera, I have shot around 7000 pictures. Yup, 7000. The amount of space it takes on my computer is close to 10 GB or maybe it has surpassed that point. I don't know. What's next for me you ask? I'll tell you that I don't know. A dslr might be plausible if anyone is kind enough to get me one. If not, I think I'll keep using the ixus 60 till it's time for it to pass on. LoL. My everyday motto when taking pictures is, trashing dslrs with a digital camera! ( Don't tell me it's impossible! )
