The morgue
Today was my first day in the biology lab. We were introduced to a microscope. Not a sophisticated one, but much better than what we are having in schools. It had 4 objective lenses (4x , 10x, 40x, 100x ) , two oculars ( for both of your eyes ) and a light source. We need not depend on the sun for light. Hurray. Laboratory work for today was about peeking at dead parameciums, amoebas, euglena and bacteria. Other than that, we were required to measure the dead organisms.

Look into the microscope and tell me what you see
Before measuring the dead organisms, we had to give measurements to a scale fitted in the right eyepiece. I had a tough time then as I was confused, blurred and dumbfounded. Heh. Lucky for me, my classmates helped me understand the whole process. Argh. There were many knobs to turn to position the specimen at the correct position. Had to keep turning the "fine focusing" knob a few times back and forth to have the image in focus. Plus, peering into the microscope with both eyes was already tough!

That's Steven
We finished the ordeal in an hour or so. After that we wondered around the lab. Mr. Giju and Ivan spotted Ratdam Husmice's preserved body which was sentenced to death by hanging decades ago. It was later disected for further research. XD. There were also other specimens on display. Thus, the morgue.
