Chee Cheng's 18th Birthday Celebration
This picture will be the only picture shown till I receive permission to post more.
Just received the permission for further posting of pictures. Hang on there!
Picture below is a group picture of those who came early.

The Gift
Finding a gift for our friend on a special occasion was not an easy task. We searched high and low for something which is special and meaningful but turned up empty. Oh well, we got the present ready on the day itself. The question now. How should we present the gift? Wrap it up in a conventional way or do it in a unique way. I chose to do it in a unique way. Well, I was given the task of making it a reality. It took me quite a while to come up with the masterpiece. For that, I got a cut on my hand!

Arrival
I left my house at 4.15 PM, picking up Giju, Siah Ying Wei and Nicholas. My family friend Dr. Yew was kind enough to send us all the way there. Thanks! Anyway, as we approached the area, we took a wrong turn and went into a newly constructed office lots thanks to poor signage. To make matters worse, the guards there didn't even know how to give simple directions. We wasted some time there. After the short detour, we were on our way. We went past security checks. The guards there were imports and they saluted us like army officers. Wow, cool. They even stomp the ground for you. We could find the house quickly as it was the only house with caterers and a pavilion. We went up to the front door and met the lovely birthday girl.

Myvi for Birthday
What is the most expensive gift have you ever received for your birthday? Well, our birthday girl here received a Myvi for her birthday. Wow. We went over to the driveway and checked out the Myvi. THe birthday girl striked some poses too. Woot! Not to forget our male model, Giju.

Relative and Friends
Amidst the photo taking session, relatives of the birthday girl arrived. They wished her Happy Birhtday and also gave her a gift. Family conversation ensued after that. Later, her college friend arrived.

Inside the House
With nothing to do outdoors, we went indoors. We went to the kitchen area which had a mini bar. Nice lighting and atmosphere. Took some pictures there. Then ,we went upstairs to the living room. It had an outdoor "mini garden". Never mind that, we continued with our photo taking frenzy. Me and Ying Wei. Canon and Nikon.

Food and Drinks
After spending some time with the models, we went downstairs to have a drink or two. Soon, more guest arrive and the party was ready to commence. There was a wide variety of food served. Desserts too. The birthday girl handed out red eggs to the guests as for customary purposes.

Happy Birthday to You!
While enjoying the food, the two-storey birthday cake made its appearance. I positioned myself in front of the cake alongside Ying Wei and Nicholas. Everyone then crowded around the birthday girl and started singing the birthday song. We only sang the English version. Sad. Anyway, as soon as we were done singing, the birthday girl immediately blew out the candles, forgetting to make her 18th birthday wish. As for me, I was caught unprepared. I didn't take the decisive shot. Darn it. Her dad then lit up the candles once more and she got to make her wish. A perfect man in her life maybe? Ha ha. Her college friends then passed her a gift which had her idol's face on it as well as hers. A bolster I guess.

Opening of Gifts
Done with the food, we went inside the house as the birthday girl was about to unwrap the gifts. She sat down in front of a "shifting table". It had an unstable feeling to it. Dangerous as well. Anyhow, I took photos as she unwrapped the gifts one by one. Apart from that, she read out the messages written on the greeting cards. She received items from a wide variety. From that of "personal" items to jewellery and so on. The last image in this title is my personal favourite.

Photographer's Pose
With nothing left to shoot, we decided to shoot our friends holding the digital single lens reflex camera.

Farewell
I went home with the guys at 11.30 PM. Hmm, guess what we were doing till then? The host stuffed us with more food. Ughh. I'm getting fatter! There goes my effort to get buff xD. Luckily I didn't take any rice that evening, or I'll be extremely full and nothing will enter my stomach! As if two birthday cakes were not enough, we had another one. Lemon cheese cake. Used to be my favourite. I better cut down on sugar or I'm going to suffer from diabetes soon!
