Plenary Session and Speeches by Head Prefect Candidates
What's a plenary session? Well, it is basically a question and answer session. Panels will take their places at the front while the crowd remain on their seats. Anyone from the crowd who wishes to address anything will come up to the microphone and voice it out. An answers that pleases both sides is expected. It's not fun being one of the panelists as you constantly get bombarded with questions and you have to provide the crowd with an answer in a matter of seconds. Kunil headed the plenary session together with Ang Jian Wei, Bryan and the other facilitators.
Main issues brought up were on last minute assignments, fund raising, unity of the prefect board. Those from the panelists who answered the questions were Kunil, Ang Jian Wei, Bryan and Munirah. Initially, the atmosphere was calm. It later then escalated to a rather exciting debate or exchange of thoughts I'd say. I missed the climax though. Had to rush home to grab my digital camera and web cam to take the place of my camcorder as the tapes were full. Khor Kok Kuan gave me a lift home. =)
Returning to school, the participants were allowed a break. Had a few minutes to set up the recording device as the head prefect candidates will be giving a speech on their ideal structure of the prefect board as well as their goals and vision for the board. It was quite a surprise for me as students who just recently joined the prefect board were selected as candidates for the head prefect post. It is either they are outstanding or no one is interested in competing for the post. The candidates were later asked questions by the panelists as well as by the crowd. All of them did well. Great job!
It was lunch time after that. I hanged around for awhile, taking a few pictures. Went home for lunch at 1.00 PM. Only returned to school at 8.00 PM for the formal dinner. Report about it? Wait for tomorrow! =)
